Spring Fling Retreat

Ellie Pooh! Retreat Information! & Prima!

New papers are in from Ellie Pooh! This is a really neat handmade paper that embosses beautifully, and will give a rich feel to any project, plus it's green! Well, actually, we got it in about 8 colors, but it is environmentally friendly, made from recycled, yep you guessed it, Elephant Poop, lol.  You don't have to tell, we won't rat you out, but Mr. Ellie Pooh paper helps protect elephants in Sri Lanka which is something cool to share.  You can read more about at the Mr. Ellie Pooh site: http://www.mrelliepooh.com

Also new in is an order from Prima.  You probably know them for their pretty little "Got Flowers" milk bottles of paper blossoms.  We got them too, but what we're excited about are their new die cut felt ribbons in some very cool shapes, self-adhesive rhinestone frames, Prima Paintable Overlays, and wide clear tape with patterns printed on them.  Come on by and see them!

Woo HOo! Sale time!

August 16th is the day to mark on your calendars, Plum Crazy is having our ANNUAL PAPER SALE!!!!!!!  All paper will be buy one sheet, get the second half off!  Any size, any style!!!!!!!  This is a great time to stock up on discontinued favorites before they are all gone or to try some of the more expensive speciality papers you've been eyeing for awhile.  Plus we'll have grab bags for sale again for everyone who loves surprises :-)

Worldwin Cardstock

I'm so excited we finally got in a new shipment of cardstock!  We put out 16 new colors of 8.5 x 11 cardstock, and, even more exciting, they are Doublemates!  Doublemates are cardstock that has a different color on each side, one vivid shade, and one rich shade. 

This makes them great for cardmakering, tear art projects, and dry embossing.  Even better Worldwin is a green company- all of their products are made with wind energy. How cool is that!

Curioser & Curiouser Retreat

Details for Curiouser and Curiouser Retreat hosted by us (Backroads Plum Crazy) at the Dairy Barn Bed & Breakfast.

3 days and 2 nights of crafty fun March 14, 15, 16 for only $225

• We'll be teaching you how to make an altered CD album, make a party favor purse out of paper perfect for bridal showers and slumber parties and whip up a set of lovely cards with the leftovers .
• Lots of great make 'n takes and drawings (you remember how good the drawings were last time?  these are even cooler!)
• All of your meals, plus snacks (if you've got room!)
• And just enough downtime to catch your breath and work on a page or two of your own.
• Access to all of our tools including Sissix, Cricut, Ellison, and Wizard cutting machines; dies, embossing folders, and cartridges
• Shuttles to the shop for any tools you might have forgotten.
• Access to Donya, Michelle, and Gerrie for ideas and advice 24/7, not to mention your fellow retreat goers :-)

Spiral bound CD album

You will make a spiral bound album using 5 CDs. There will be 8 pages to decorate and mount your photos. Bring at least 8 copies of photos no larger then 4 X 5.  They can be smaller.. or somewhat larger if you want to crop them. Be sure they are not your originals, but copies.

You will need to bring your paper trimmer and photo mount squares or tape. Feel free to bring any special embellishments or stickers you may want to include in your book. The rest of the materials will be included in your kit.

Paper Purses

You'll stretch your paper further you ever imagined in this workshop.  You'll learn to make two different styles of purses out of darling double sided paper.  One you'll convert into a fold out mini-album and the other will become a wonderful gift bag for a set of custom cards.

You'll just need your paper trimmer and a good adhesive (permanent tape runner or uhu glue stick for example) for this project.

Feeling a bit low are we?  Maybe even bleak?  Winter getting you down?  I think all of us are starting to fall out of love with our snowy wonderland.  You know what might just fix you up?  Popping over to shop and looking at all of the bright wonderful colors!  Doesn't just thinking about orange and hot pink thaw you right out?  How about some Caribbean
blue?

Speaking of bright colors and anticipation, just a quick reminder to the Wild Cards.  We'll be meeting THIS THURSDAY instead of next so we don't interfere anybodies Valentine plans.  The theme is glittery or shiny, so if you've stalled and felt uninspired, perk up and pick up some of Art Institute's bright glitters or a wonderful, versatile clear Spica pen to sugar up some cards!  Or if you're really stuck- pick up the newest copy of Take 10 for our everyday price of 10% off the cover price!

Plum Crazy Take-Out

Now available- Cricut Cartridge Rentals! No need to spend $80 on a cartridge you'll only use a few times, now for only $10 a week you can take a cartridge from the Backroads Plum Crazy Library home whenever you need it.  You can still use our machine at the shop, but now you can cut whatever you want, whenever you want (even 3 in the morning).
